Ontario Safety League APPROVED Signing Authority (MTO)
The Government of Ontario requires drivers to acquire a valid Z-endorsement certification to operate any vehicle equipped with air brakes in the province of Ontario. This Z Air Brake Endorsement requirement includes commercial transport trucks, motor homes, buses and medium sized trailers.
Taylor Truck Training Services provides a two-day program which consists of 12 hours of in-class teaching instruction, practical training, written and practical test. On successful completion of both tests (written and practical) students will receive the Z-Endorsement certificate from the Ontario Safety League.
Students are taught how a modern air brake system works and to comply with Ontario’s air brake legislation. They will further understand what conditions would cause an air brake equipped vehicle to be placed out of service. Failure to comply with the approved testing requirements for daily vehicle brake system inspections can lead to devastating consequences for both drivers and companies alike. The importance of having a well-balanced and maintained brake system to optimize braking performance will be also taught. The course will also focus on understanding how to properly inspect and test a modern air brake system, ensuring that students can identify, report and initiate the steps necessary for repairs to be made.
Our instructors have extensive knowledge, with many years of experience. The objective is to provide long-lasting learning by enhancing driving skill and knowledge with respect to air brake systems.
On-time attendance and participation in the entire 12 hour course is required for successful completion. Pre-registration is required, as space is limited.
During the final portion of this course students will utilize Taylor Truck Training tractor-trailer to practice the brake inspection steps that are necessary to meet the Ministry of Transportation testing criteria. The final test for Air Brake Endorsement Certification is conducted on-site at Taylor Truck Training Centre.

Prerequisite(s): Participants must have a valid Ontario class “G” licence or greater to attend and be 18 years of age or older.
